Vintage Silver Plate Centerpiece Bowl 18″ Across Including Handles, 9″ Wide, Ornate Pounded Silver Plate with Iron Cutout Rim, Made in India Boy is this one a beauty. The bottom of the bowl is scalloped silver plate and sits on a small silver plate pedestal. The deep rim around the top is a heavy iron of some sort with ornate grapes and leaves in a cutout design, the handles are also iron and are made to look like a grapevine branch with leaves. It’s in great condition. I didn’t clean it when I got it out of storage because I think the patina is perfect. They used these old bowls for centerpieces with fruit in them, but this one is so pretty, I wouldn’t put a thing in it. I did use this one for a party once and filled it with these little stuffed grapes that my mom had made. She stuffed them with a mix of cream cheese and sugars and raisins. I watched her sit at the table for probably 3 hours while she carefully filled each tiny grape. Then when I set it out that night for our guests, they were gone in maybe ten minutes. It sure made Mom smile.
